Pawan Kalyan Reacts To Karthi Apology On Tirupati Laddu Controversy

Pawan Kalyan on Karthi apology

Pawan Kalyan reacts to Karthi apology on Tirupathi Laddoo controversy.Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan has elaborated on actor Karthi's apology in the recent Tirupati laddu controversy. Speaking to Thanthi TV, Pawan Kalyan explained that Karthi's light-hearted comment at a pre-release event, though not intended maliciously, could have set a bad precedent.

Pawan Kalyan acknowledged Karthi's devotion and his frequent visits to the Tirupati temple, but emphasized the impact of actors' words on the public. "Actors are looked up to by everyone," he said, adding that a casual joke or comment could be interpreted as an endorsement by many.

He expressed his belief that Karthi's apology stemmed from the reaction to his comment, which he found insulting. "Lots of people sitting behind him laughed at his remark. It's an insult," he said.

Pawan Kalyan dismissed any suggestion that Karthi apologized out of fear for his film's release. "I look at the Tamil film industry as my brothers. My friends are all born and brought up in Chennai. How will I be against them?" he stated.

The controversy arose after Karthi, at a pre-release event for his film "Sathyam Sundaram," jokingly avoided a question about the laddu controversy, saying it was a sensitive topic. Pawan Kalyan publicly rebuked Karthi's comment, emphasizing the importance of respect towards Sanatana Dharma.

Karthi subsequently issued an apology, which Pawan Kalyan accepted.

This latest development comes amidst a Supreme Court order to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu regarding his public allegations about Tirupati laddus. Pawan Kalyan clarified that the court did not declare the prasadam to be adulterated, and pointed out potential violations during the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) regime.
