On Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan met with US Consulate General Jennifer Larson in Amaravati. During the meeting, he extended his gratitude to the consulate general's team and advocated for increased opportunities for Andhra Pradesh students seeking higher education in the United States.

Kalyan requested the consulate general to consider a more lenient visa policy for students from the state, emphasizing the importance of fostering educational exchange. He also stressed the need for the consulate to ensure the safety and well-being of Andhra Pradesh students already residing in the US.

Furthermore, Kalyan actively promoted Andhra Pradesh as an attractive investment destination for US companies. He highlighted the state's strong security measures, assuring investors that Andhra Pradesh is a safe haven for their ventures. He pledged the government's commitment to providing incentives for investments in the state and urged the consulate general to facilitate meetings between US investors and Andhra Pradesh officials.

Kalyan addresses alleged attack on forest department officials

Later in the day, Kalyan addressed the alleged attack on forest department officials in Palnadu district. He spoke with the district collector and superintendent of police, directing them to take swift and decisive action against those responsible for the attack.

Kalyan, who also holds the portfolio of Minister for Forests and Environment, condemned the assault on forest officials, emphasizing the government's zero-tolerance policy towards those who threaten or harm them. He stated that the government is dedicated to protecting the state's forests, minerals, and wildlife.

"This government will not tolerate any trespass or violence against our forest officials," Kalyan declared, adding that he would not allow any unauthorized entry into the state's forests. He also emphasized the importance of protecting the state's natural resources and announced plans to review the forest department's operations and increase facilities for forest officials.

Kalyan concluded by stating he would raise the issues faced by forest officials with Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to ensure their concerns are addressed.
