Telugu Desam Party leaders on Friday alleged that the state government has forgotten to implement welfare schemes taken up for the benefit of poor and downtrodden.
Talking to media persons, TDP MLAs Sandra Venkata Veeraiah and Seethakka alleged that the government has totally failed in implementation of welfare measures taken up by former chief minister late YS Rajasekhara Reddy for the benefit of downtrodden.
They accused the Congress leaders of being focused on the Odarpu yatra of Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy and the Telangana statehood issue.
They wondered who would bring solace to the people of the state if the government concentrates only on Odarpu yatra and Telangana issue.
The TDP leaders further alleged the funds allotted for welfare schemes and students’ hostels were being diverted for other schemes.
They said the funds allotted for Dalits welfare were used for construction of roads in Pulivendula in YSR district and demanded explanation from the government why it was keeping mum on the diversion of the funds allotted for SC/STs.
The TDP leaders also questioned why Governor ESL Narasimhan has become a mute spectator when the Rs 8,000 crore funds released under sub-plan were being diverted for other works.
