Much to the delight of the people of Andhra Pradesh, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman surprised all by allocating whopping funds, central assistance in the projects pertaining to the state.
Except for the special status, Union Government promised to allocate funds to the state in all possible ways. Though people of AP and the AP government are peeved that Bihar got more allocation of funds than them, they are pleasantly surprised as for the first time in many decades, Union Government allocated so many funds for the state.
In the midst of all this, many are hailing Chandra Babu Naidu and TDP government for getting so many projects and funds from the Modi government. But what they are forgetting is the fact that PM Modi and the Union government had no other go as they are heavily dependent on the support of TDP MPs and Bihar's JD (U) MPs to run the government as they do not have a majority of their own and also only slender majority as the NDA alliance.
That is the reason why budget allocation witnessed many funds to Bihar more than that of AP as Bihar will go to assembly elections in few months for now and PM Modi is keen to derive political gains through the budget allocations.
People are lashing out at Jagan Mohan Reddy for failing to get so many funds during his regime. But they are conveniently forgetting the fact that PM Modi and the BJP alone had absolute majority and they never cared for any alliance partners and so they completely ignored Andhra Pradesh. They easily got all the bills passed in the Lok Sabha with their majority and in Rajya Sabha they threatened leaders like Jagan Mohan Reddy to support them or else fasten the corruption cases.
Had Modi's government fell short of majority like this and BJP itself below the 272 mark in the 2019 elections, at that time also Modi would have showered similar love. All boils down to the political compulsions and mileage parties will get. This is the main reason, Modi government chose to ignore and insult Telangana by not allocating anything in the budget as Congress was ruling the state though people gave them 8 MP seats , highest number to BJP in the MP elections.
Instead of seeing through the facts, claiming it as the victory of Chandra Babu Naidu's TDP and hailing him as modern-day chanakya is laughable and ridiculous to the core.
