Staunch supporter of Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy and Congress MLA Konda Surekha on Friday criticized Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas for lodging a complaint against her to High Command based on the versions of a few senior leaders.
Targeting the PCC chief, Ms Surekha sent a four-page letter to Gandhi Bhavan by fax. She accused Mr Srinivas for believing the versions of those who are making statements damaging the reputation of party openly in the media.
“How can he recommend disciplinary action against me believing such anti-party activist statements? It is not good. The leaders, who don’t have any base in their constituencies, are making statements like buffoons and causing lot of damage to the party,” Ms Surekha alleged.
The former minister also sent copies of letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi and Political Advisor Ahmed Patel. She also stated in the letter that if the High Command believes in the words of the senior Congressmen like Palvai Govardhan, Shankar Rao and V Hanumantha Rao, then the party would be destroyed forever in the state.
Ms Surekha claimed that because of her efforts the party base was protected in the Warangal district as the TDP tried to attract all the Congress workers.
Reiterating that the Congress would lose its party base permanently if it ignores the family of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, she appealed to the High Command to recognize the sincere efforts of Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and utilize his services at proper level.
Incidentally Ms Surekha started the letter by addressing PCC chief Srinivas as 'brother'.
She also advised media to stop their malign campaign against Jaganmohan Reddy and act in a responsible manner.
