Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Saturday directed the police to make elaborate security arrangements in the city on September 24, the day when Allahabad High Court is scheduled to deliver its verdict on the Babri Masjid title suit.
Talking to media persons at the Media Point in Secretariat after Mr Rosaiah chaired a meeting with all-party leaders and religious heads, Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy stated that the Chief Minister appealed to all people, parties, religious organisations, leaders and media to extend full cooperation to ensure peace and harmony in the state.
Ms Indra Reddy said that the meeting was held on Saturday, so that the government, along with political and religious leaders can work to ensure peace during Ganesh immersion processions on September 22 and on September 24.
She said “it is necessary for all sections of people of the state to maintain equanimity and tranquility during these trying times and ensure that the best traditions of our culture are maintained.
The meeting was attended by Health Minister Danam Nagender, Chief Secretary S V Prasad, Director General of Police K Aravinda Rao, City Police Commissioner AK Khan, Cyberabad Police Commissioner K Prabhakara Reddy, MP and AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi and his party Legislators, Secunderabad MP M Anjana Kumar Yadav, BJP state president G Kishen Reddy, All India Muslim Personal Law Board Secretary MA Raheem Quershi, Majlis-e-Ulema-e-Deccan secretary general Moulana Syed Qubool Pasha Shuttari, Jammat-e-Islami Hind president Malik Moatasim Khan, VHP and Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti president G Raghava Reddy, former Union Minister Bhandaru Dattatreya and many other religious and political leaders.
