The State Government has declared a seven-day mourning from Thursday following the sudden demise of the Chief Minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy in a copter crash while Thursday and Friday are declared as holidays for all the government office and educational institutions in the State.
A State Government release here on Thursday said that the flags will hoist half-mast for the whole week and no official functions will be organized during this period. The Tamil Nadu Government too declared Thursday as a holiday. It said that no official functions will be held on Thursday and the Karunanidhi Government is observing mourning on the day.
