Delivering the convocation address to the students, Purandeswari stated though the country got Independence since 63 years ago, the literacy rate in women has not reached up to the mark.

Expressing concern over poor literacy rate among women, she said the Ministry would introduce revolutionary changes in the education field to achieve cent percent literacy among women. The government would also take steps to pursue higher education for women, she said.

If the educated women join the political field, the corruption can be eradicated at budding stage itself, she hoped.
