AP TDP Leaders Fighting For Tickets

Internal fights intensifying in AP TDP

AP TDP leaders fighting for tickets. The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has initiated efforts to quell internal discord among its leaders and contenders for the 2024 electoral tickets, particularly within the SC and BC candidate domains. Despite controversial figures vying for these positions, the TDP's central command has faced challenges in managing the situation.

A peculiar scenario unfolds in the Madakasira Assembly segment in Satya Sai district, reserved for SCs, where a former MLC assumed the role of party incharge. The sidelined former MLA, M Eeranna, who was once in charge, found himself competing with Gundumala Thippeswamy, a former MLC and BC leader who joined the TDP from the Congress. Thippeswamy, actively opposing Eeranna, has been advocating for alternative candidates, creating tension within the party.

In the Penukonda assembly segment, a fierce battle for the MLA ticket ensues. Former minister N Kristappa, a prominent figure from the weavers' community, seeks the party's favor, while the party incharge and former MLA BK Parthasarathi aims for a second term. Adding to the complexity, Sabitha, the daughter of former MP Ramachandra Reddy, is making significant efforts to establish her own influence in the region.

Singanamala faces confusion as leaders from other parties aggressively pursue a TDP ticket. A former APCC president seeks party nomination amid dissension among the present incharge and local leaders, creating a challenging dynamic.

The Anantapur Lok Sabha seat attracts attention due to JC Pavan Reddy's withdrawal from active politics in the area, contrasting with the active involvement of his uncle, Tadipathri municipal chairperson JC Prabhakar Reddy. This situation intensifies the demand for the TDP Anantapur MP ticket, especially in anticipation of a potential alliance with Jana Sena for the MLA seat in Anantapur.

While the TDP remains robust in many segments, internal differences among leaders pose a potential threat to the party's fortunes in the upcoming 2024 elections. Navigating these complexities will be crucial for the TDP to maintain its political stronghold in the region.
