Chandrababu Naidu Gets Little Relief In The High Court

High Court On CBN Arrest

CBN gets little relief in the High Court. TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu finds himself currently detained in connection with a skill development case. His legal team has initiated proceedings seeking his release on bail. Leading his defense, Siddhartha Luthra, the primary counsel for Chandrababu, asserts that the charges should be dropped, emphasizing the alleged lack of proper permission for his arrest. However, AAG Ponnavolu countered this argument, contending that it is premature to consider bail as the case remains under investigation.

In response to these legal arguments, the High Court has requested the State CID to present its perspective. The court is committed to a fair and thorough examination of the case and intends to hear both sides before reaching a decision.

Consequently, the next hearing date has been rescheduled to the forthcoming Tuesday. In the interim, the court has ruled that Chandrababu Naidu will not be transferred into the custody of the CID, at least until the following Monday. In a significant development in TDP Chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu's ongoing legal battles, the ACB court in Vijayawada has recently rejected a petition seeking his house custody. Concurrently, another petition has been filed in the AP High Court to have the FIR against Chandrababu quashed. The High Court, which has recently taken up this petition, issued crucial orders, including postponing the hearing on the quash petition until the 19th of this month.

The High Court has granted this request and has instructed the CID not to seek Chandrababu's custody until Monday, citing the necessity for a comprehensive hearing on the matter. These directives were issued during the hearing of the petition filed in the High Court to quash Chandrababu's remand order and FIR.

Advocate AAG Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy represented the AP CID, while Chandrababu was represented by Siddharth Luthra, Dammalapati Srinivas, and others. Additionally, an additional petition has been filed in the High Court seeking anticipatory bail for Chandrababu in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road Alignment case, with the hearing scheduled for today.

Furthermore, the High Court is set to hear a lunch motion petition filed by former Advocate General Dammalapati Srinivas, seeking the cancellation of Chandrababu's remand report in the Skill Development Scam case.
