Rajinikanth enthralled all with his speech at the event. Rajini shared how the project materialised. He said “I heard many stories after Annaathe but everything was similar to Baasha or Annamalai. They were all trying to be huge in scale. I rejected so many scripts that I felt bad and stopped listening to scripts all together.”
On Nelson Dilip Kumar's Beast negative reviews, Rajini said, “We had an internal meeting at Sun Pictures where it was brought to notice that while Beast had a lot of negative reviews, the film did not lose money for the distributors."
Rajinikanth also spoke about Sun Risers Hyderabad team's performance in IPL and also the owner Kavya Maran saying , "I don't like seeing Kavya Maran all sad in the IPL stands." He adviced her to take the best players next year. Speaking about his Drinking habit he said . “Drinking alcohol was one of the biggest mistakes I made”. The film stars Tamannaah as the female lead while Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, and Shivrajkumar in important roles. The music is scored by Anirudh Ravichander.
