Sai Kumar is the son of popular actor, dubbing artist PJ Sharma. At the very young age Sai Kumar made his entry into film industry as child dubbing artist. He did roles in films Sneham, Challenge, Kalikalam etc. He lent his voice for Suman and Rajasekhar who became quite popular with Sai Kumar's vocals along with their charam and intense performances.
Sai Kumar became lead actor with Kannada Film, Police Story which became a sensational hit for his Powerpacked performance and high voltage dialogues. The film got dubbed into Telugu and became a smash hit. With the massive success of Police Story Sai Kumar is flooded with offers in Telugu and Kannada as hero mostly in police roles.
He became a star with his police films in Kannada and became a household name in Karnataka. Later in 2000's he turned villain with Samanyudu for which he won Nandi award as the Best Villain. His performance in Prasthanam is considered as his career best and won him many accolades.
Sai Kumar also did as television presenter for Etv Telugu and Kannada for programs like Deal Or No Deal and WOW shows. His brothers Ravi Shankar and Ayyappa P Sharma are also actors and dubbing artists. His son Aadi is a popular hero in Tollywood.
