Theatre owners protest against the 2018

2018 land in problem

Theatre owners protest against 2018. Malayalam film 2018 turned out to be the biggest grosser in Mollywood. The film directed by award-winning director Jude Anthany Joseph highlighted the emotions and problems faced by the people of Kerala during the 2018 floods.

The film starred Tovino Thomas, Indrans, Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, and Vineeth Sreenivasan in important roles. The film landed in trouble when theatre owners in Kerala started protesting and called for a two-day strike. Theatre owners took this decision as the makers announced the film's OTT streaming on Sony Liv on 7 June.

Theatre owners are angry that even though the film is doing well at the box office and people are thronging theatres to watch the film, the makers have taken this decision regarding OTT streaming. The Kerala theatre owners have called for a strike on June 7 and 8 as a protest against the early OTT release of 2018.
