AP fibernet attractive First Day First Show offer. It is known that the state of Andhra Pradesh ruled by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has been trying its best to enable people to watch films at affordable prices. As such it launched AP State Fiber net Limited and today its Chairman Gowtham Reddy came up with the First Day First Show offer to the viewers.
Speaking to scribes, he said people can watch the films on the first day getting an annual subscription at Rs 99. He added "Theatre owners need not worry about the footfalls and this approach should be considered as just a theatre. Movies will be screened on APSFL only if the producer approaches us."
He continued "To bring APSFL close to the people in AP, we have set a target of 55,000km of OFC cable. So far, 37,000km of cable-laying is complete. Out of the 11,254-gram panchayats, 7600 villages have been given fiber net connectivity," The scheme will be launched by Industries Minister Gudivada Amarnath on 2 June at Visakhapatnam.
But netizens and a few producers expressed their disappointment. Telugu producer Sreenivasa Kumar wrote, "No NOTABLE producer, distributor, OTT platforms agree for this. As it's not profitable to them and also it will KILL theater experience and Exhibition system which is the backbone of films."
Prasad Nimmakayala, Vice President - Telugu Movies ZEE Studios, wrote on his social media handle, "This is definitely not for all films. Maybe films that can not make it to theatres and OTT releases. This may help a few films which are looking for sampling to create buzz. Just like previews."
