Ram Charan is enjoying a global star status now for his electrifying performance and magnetic screen presence in RRR. He earned huge fame in Bollywood too. But, this is not the first time Charan tried to impress Bollywood. While his career is on the rise he made his debut in Hindi films a decade ago.
He starred in the remake of Amitabh Bachchan's classic Zanjeer with the same name which is directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The film is dubbed into Telugu as Thoofaan. Priyanka Chopra played the female lead while Sanjay Dutt and Prakash Raj played other key roles. The film became a disaster at the box office.
The film director Apoorva Lakhia in his latest interview spoke about his relationship with Ram Charan now. Lakhia revealed that despite the film's box office failure, he and Ram Charan have remained good friends. However, he humorously mentioned that the actor has a habit of not answering his phone calls promptly.
He said that Ram Charan is a good friend to him. Even after Zanjeer did not perform well at the box office, Apoorva used to visit Ram Charan at his house in Hyderabad and stayed with him many times. But now, Charan is not picking his phone calls said the director. He said Charan doesnt speak more often in phone and he might changed his phone. He also said tha Charan's wife, Upasana, replies to his calls.
