Salman Khan starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan co-starring Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde, Jagapathi Babu and Aishwarya Rai starrer Ponniyin Selvan 2 co-starring Vikram, Karthi, Trisha, Jayam Ravi were released with one week apart in theatres. Now Both films were up for streaming on OTT platforms.
KKBKKJ has maintained some buzz before its release and with Eid advantage it did well at the box office despite mixed reviews but ended as a disappointment. It has collected Rs 170 Crs worldwide in its full run. This Farhad Samji Directorial is an official remake of Ajith Kumar starrer Tamil Superhit Veeram.
On the other hand, Ponniyin Selvan 2 had huge buzz in Tamil as it's first part Ponniyin Selvan 1 became an industry hit in Tamil and amassed a whopping Rs 500 Crores globally. While PS 1 didn't showed much impact in non-Tamil markets, PS 2 got comparatively better talk and reviews. But, still to everyone's surprise after having a good first week the film didn't show much hold at the box office. But, still the film manages to collect Rs 300+ Crores globally. This Mani Ratnam directorial has become one of the biggest money-spinner franchises.
While Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is now streaming in ZEE 5. Ponniyin Selvan 2 is streaming on Amazon Prime Video in rental basis. It will be available to subscribers for free in the coming two weeks.
