South fans furious over Salman Khan lungi dance

Salman lungi dance lands in Controversy

Salman Khan's lungi dance lands in controversy. South fans are furious over Salman Khan's lungi dance. It is known that Salman Khan is starring in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan. The film is directed by Farhad Samji and stars Pooja Hegde as the female lead while Jagapathi Babu and Venkatesh are starring in important roles. Ram Charan danced to a special song. The film's trailer will be out tomorrow at 6 PM.

The film's songs Bathukamma and Yentamma have a south flavor and everyone is of the opinion that Salman is keen to conquer the south market by casting Tollywood stars. Yentamma song featured Salman Khan, Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde, and Ram Charan dancing with a lungi.

But now Salman Khan's lungi dance hurt the sentiments of south movie lovers. Lungi is considered traditional and religious for many in the South. People feel that the lungi dance moves in the song are insulting to the core. Many feel that the traditional lungi as a dance prop is not the same as using the towel as Salman did in 'Mujhse Shaadi Karoge', or more recently Ram Charan and NTR Jr with suspenders in 'RRR'.

Many are saying "You really can’t mess with the lungi and especially by trying to pass off a dhoti as a lungi as they’ve done in the 'Yentamma' song." Former Indian cricketer Lakshman Sivaramakrishnan shared his feelings posted  “This is highly ridiculous and degrading to our South Indian culture. This is not a LUNGI, THIS IS A DHOTI. A classical outfit which is being shown in a DISGUSTING MANNER.”

A star Tamil and Hindi actor on condition of anonymity turned even furious saying  “What were they smoking while messing around with the veshti? Do they know how sacred the vesti is for South Indians? Salman toh chalo we can say he doesn’t know any better. But Venkatesh Daggubati and Ram Charan are Telugu South Indians. How could they participate in the disrespectful farce? And that’s not even a veshti they are fooling around with it. It is a dhoti worn like a veshti.”

A director who knows Salman's behavior and who walked out of his project once, speaking about Salman Khan shared “He doesn’t listen to anyone. He does whatever he wants to, and the others just comply blindly. He has no corrective elements to tell him when he is going wrong. There are only yes-men. And even if he had someone to correct him, he wouldn’t listen.”
