Double Oscar winner AR.Rahman wishes Naatu Naatu to win the prestigious Oscars in the best song category. It is known that Naatu Naatu song from Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR found nominations for the best song category and time is ticking for the final countdown of the Oscars. The Oscars will be held on 12 March 2023 and the live streaming will be on in India from 5.30 AM on 13 March 2023.
All Indians are praying and excitement is increasing as all the Hollywood celebrities and critics are predicting the song to win the Oscars. In the midst of all this, AR.Rahman speaking to scribes, hoped that Naatu Naatu will win the Oscars.
Rahman said , “I want Naatu-Naatu to win awards, I want them to win the Grammy also because any award for any of us will lift India up and the concentration of our culture will become higher.”. He added “I thought it (India getting a nomination) would start ten years back. It’s 12 years late. This should happen every year from India because we are a country of 1.3 billion people and there are amazing geniuses in every aspect of filmmaking. Most of the movies don’t enter the competition. At least they (makers of RRR) had the thing to put it out there. If nobody knows your movie, who is going to vote for it? I wish them the very best and I want them to win.”
The song will be performed live by Keeravani, Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava and US actress Lauren Gottlieb will be dancing to the foot tapping tune.
