Nandini Reddy : A Successful Director Who Made Her Mark

A Rare director with her own mark

It is not rationale to mention someone as female director. But, the harsh reality where and when there are very few of them made to a point of becoming a Director. B V Nandini Reddy is one of those few and one of those very few who became successful scoring big hits and making films with stars. She entered into industry and became integral part of Director Krishna Vamsy's team. She worked for him until Anthahpuram and it's Hindi vesion Shakthi starring Shahrukh Khan. Then she made her debut as Director.

Her first film Ala Modalaindi starring Nani and Nitya Menen was a rom-com. It was a genre which is a less explored in Tollywood. Nandini made that film with a complete urbane touch with fresh narrative style that clicked well with the audience. She introduced Nithya Menen with that film. Ala.Modalaindi became a blockbuster. Then she made Jabardasth with Siddharth and Samantha which is a remake of Bollywood film Band Baja Barat starring Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma. It became a failure at the boxoffice. Then again she made Kalyana Vaibhogame with her own story starring Naga Shaurya and introducing Malavika Nair. It went on becoming a successful film.

Then she directed Oh Baby starring Samantha which is an official remake of Korean film Miss Granny. She showed her ability and calibre to handle a foreign film making necessary changes and adapted to the local sensibilities without losing the core emotion. Oh Baby became one of the biggest hits that year. She directed a segment titled Meera in Netflix's anthology Pitta Kathalu. Now she is coming with Anni Manchi Sakunamule starring Santosh Sobhan and Malavika Nair.
