Dharma Teja, a top-class cinematographer turned Director brings a revolution of making films with new talent in new millennium. Teja who was a popular cinematographer came from the school of Ram Gopal Varma. He won Nandi Award as best cameraman for his first film 'Raatri' Directed by Ram Gopal Varma. He then worked for many big Bollywood films. He turned director with Chitram which is made with all new comers produced by Roji Rao with a budget of forty lakh rupees which eneded up collecting more than ten crores. Chitram not only made Teja a blockbuster director but also gave the film industry a confidence boost to make films with new talent. He created a revolution in this aspect.
After Chitram, Teja once again stike big with Nuvvu Nenu, a trend setting love story which paved way for many love stories at that time. He made Nijam with Mahesh Babu which didn't had a great tun at the boxoffice but it is critically acclaimed for its intense film-making. He also started banner Chitram Movie though which he produced movies with other director's and also distributed many films especially Hollywood films in Nizam and Vizag areas. Personally Teja lost his younger son due to illness. Teja is known for his straight forwardness wearing heart on his sleeve.
Teja made into news once again with Nene Raju Nene Manthri starring Rana Daggubati which became a superhit at the Box-office. Now he is introducing his brother Abhiram Daggubati with a film titled 'Ahimsa'.
