Everyone is aware about Megastar Chiranjeevi's marriage story with Surekha who is the daughter of legendary actor Allu Ramalingayya and sister of top producer Allu Aravind. Chiranjeevi has Started his career with Punadi Raallu movie but Pranam Khareedu was his first movie released in theatres. Later on with varied films doing many roles he established an identity of his own. He gained popularity with his acting and dance in a very short time. During that time Chiranjeevi went to Allu Ramalingayya gari house to meet some common relative who was staying there. During that time Allu Ramalingayya's wife has put a proposal before Ramalingayya about getting married their daughter to Chiranjeevi. Initially Allu Ramalingayya was reluctant to get married his daughter to someone from film industry. But, after talking with popular producer, senior DV Narasaraju, Allu Ramalingayya convinced and enquired about Chiranjeevi's habits and nature. Then only their marriage was fixed with the agreement of both their families.
Chiranjeevi married Surekha on February 20, 1980 at 10:55 AM at Sri Rajarajeswari Kalyanamandapam, Madras. Chiranjeevi said that during his marriage, he was shooting for Tataya Premaleelalu. At that time Nutan Prasad was a very busy artist and he wondered if he would even need to change the wedding date for his dates. However, Megastar said that the filmmaker had postponed the shooting for wedding. By the time he went to wedding hall, his shirt was torn. Surekha noticed it and suggested to change the shirt. But Chiranjeevi refused to change.
