K Viswanath : Director Who Preserves Cinema In Its Purest Art Form

Remembering K Vishwanath Garu On His Birth Anniversary

Kasinathuni Viswanath, who recently takes leave form us and went to where he came from is name no Telugu person can forget and no Tamilian needs introduction. He is one of those rarest filmmakers who has always believed and made films in Art form. He doesn't know formulas, trends and templates but only sees Cinema as a mode of communication to connect people of all classes and made them understand they are all the same at their hearts, humans at first. He devoted his career to make the people understand Music is a divine form but not an instrument which is used to show dancing skills and glamour in movie. But, he never pointed the usage of music in commercial cinema at the same time he never stopped projecting Music in high standards or stooped to make use of it.

K Viswanath has started his journey as a director with Aatma Gouravam in 1965 and made many superhit films Private Master, Undamma Bottupedatha, Chelleli Kapuram, Chinmanati Snehithulu, Neramu Siksha and many more. But with Siri Siri Muvva he seems fine his own way and with Sankarabharanam he has rediscovered himself as a director. Sankarabharanam became reverberated success allover the India and won uncountable awards. Since then he made many classics like Sapthapadi, Subhalekha, Sagara Sangamam, Swathimuthyam, Sirivennela, Sruthilayalu, Swayamkrushi, Swarnakamalam, Suthradharulu, Aapadbadhavudu, Swathi Kiranam, Subha Sankalpam.

His last film as a director was Subhapradam in 2010. He wanted to introduce his one of the favourite actors, Kamal Haasan's daughter Shruthi Haasan as heroine with that film but due to unknown reasons it didn't happened. But it was made with Allari Naresh and Manjari Fadnavis in lead roles. He also acted in many films after he did role in his directorial Subha Sankalpam. There is no award regarding films that didn't conferred to Vishwanath. Though he is not amongst us, he lives eternally with the treasure of films he gave to future generations.
