Balakrishna To Inaugurate Asian Tarakarama Theatre

NBK To Re-Launch NTR Favourite Theatre

Tarakarama Theatre is founded by Legendary NT Rama Rao's family opened with NTR’s film ‘Akbar Salim and Anarkali’ in 1978. It was screened for a record number of 525 days and since then several Telugu and Hindi movies were screened. The theatre was damaged in 1991 when Congress activists torched it damaging the seats, interiors and other equipment following the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. A few months after reopening in 1995, the theatre was given on lease during which both adult as well as regular movies were screened.

Narayan K Das Narang who was also good friend of NTR, renovated Tarakarama Theatre in Kachiguda 10 years back. The Asian Tarakarama Cinema Hall is renovated by Narayan K Das Narang’s son Suneil Narang and the theatre is now equipped with completely new technology- 4K projection, superior sounding, and seating. The theatre with initial seating capacity of 1200 was reduced to 975 seats in 2012 is now reduced to 590 seats to offer a better movie-watching experience. A complete set of recliner seats and sofas are installed in the hall. The interior work is also done extravagantly.

Nandamuri Balakrishna will be doing the honours of re-opening Asian Tarakarama. 12:50 PM on December 14th is the muhurtham fixed for the re-opening. Sirish of Sri Venkateswara Creations will be lighting the lamp.
