Ajay Devgn starrer Drishyam 2 is a sequel to his earlier Drishyam which was released in 2015. Both the films are official remakes on Mohanlal's Drishyam of Malayalam. Drishyam 2 released in Cinemas on November 18. The film has opened to rave reviews for its effective handling of twists and turns. Along with Ajay Devgn, the film stars Akshaye Khanna, Ishita Dutta, Shriya Saran and Tabu. This Abhishek Pathak directorial has struck a right chord with audience. The response and mouth talk has been fantastic.
Drishyam 2 opened with a bang at the boxoffice. It took an excellent opening at the ticket windows by amassing Rs 15 Crores nett on its first day. Considering the remake factor, moderate budget and released only in Hindi belts, this number is very good for a Bollywood film. As Hindi trade circles left clueless about audience turnout to theatres for non-event films, Drishyam 2 gave them much needed hope. Audience are thronging to theatres and several multiplexes adding midnight 11:59 PM shows the demand.
It is expected that the film will accumulate around 50 Crores in its first weekend. Drishyam 2 breathes much needed hope for Bollywood trade. Let's see how far this film goes in the coming weeks.
