Is Shankar burning his hands knowingly or unknowingly? Seems so according to many. While the entire Bollywood is excited with Shankar announcing a trilogy with Bollywood star Ranveer Singh, people are wondering whether he made the right choice. Longtime back rumors spread that Shankar planned to remake his blockbuster Anniyan with Ranveer Singh. People cannot forget Vikram-Shankar's Anniyan which created a sensation releasing in 2005. The film's dubbed versions also got tremendous responses and even the Hindi version got screened on various channels. A couple of days back it came out that Shankar is turning the popular Tamil novel Velperi into a film with Ranveer Singh and the film would be made in three parts.
Shankar who created a pan-India sensation later lost his crown to Rajamouli and from then on he has made desperate efforts to regain it. He made many unsuccessful attempts and this time, he is confident that teaming up with Ranveer Singh will make him realize his dream. The project has everything in it, extravagant VFX and heart-touching and romantic elements. But fans of Shankar are disappointed and are asking Shankar if they would have been happier had they announced the project with Kollywood star Suriya. No one can match Suriya in style, grace, and exceptional and impactful performances. He is not only known in the south but also attained worldwide recognition when his film Jai Bhim went to the Oscars. His previous film Soorai Potturu got rave reviews.
Though Ranveer Singh is a good performer, many are of the opinion that nowadays even North movie lovers are not showing interest in seeing their own stars' films. Under these circumstances, it is not right for Shankar to cast Ranveer Singh in his prestigious project. Hope Shankar will make a wise decision and rope in Suriya for the lead role before it is too late.
