A big announcement has been made yesterday on the eve of Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan's Birthday. The iconic actor and legendary director Mani Ratnam will be re-uniting after 35 years, after their cult action drama Nayakudu which was released in 1987. The magical duo is accompanied by Oscar Award winning Music Director AR Rahman.
Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, R Mahendran, and Siva Ananth will be producing the movie under their banners Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies. Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies presents the film. The makers also announced that the movie will release in 2024.

Kamal Haasan said, “I was equally excited 35 years before when I was about to start work with Mr. Mani Ratnam. Collaborating with a similar mindset is stimulating. This stimulation includes Mr. Rahman as well. Eagerly looking forward to presenting this venture with Mr. Udhayanidhi Stalin.”

The pre-production of the film will begin after Maniratnam's ongoing film Ponniyin Selvan Part 2 which is slated to release on April 28, 2023.
