Director Meher Ramesh who made his debut with Young Tiger NTR's Kantri scored decent success and recognised for his stylish making in commercial cinema. His next with Prabhas, 'Billa''s success assured his ability to make a slick action film in a stylish manner carrying commercial elements in a large scale. But, his later films with NTR and Venkatesh became duds and he is out of the limelight since then. He was seen with Mahesh during public and private events. Everyone thought Mahesh will do a film with him. But, that didn't happened. Later he was seen in Mega Compound and he finally got the offer to Direct Meg Star Chiranjeevi for Bholaa Shankar, a remake of Tamil blockbuster Vedalam.
But, recently in an interview Shakthi film producer Aswini Dutt made sensational remarks that due to Meher Ramesh he lost almost everything after producing Shakthi. He then wen t to Vijayawada and luckily he ventured into real estate business and survived from the losses incurred by Shakthi. He also added his time was good so that he came out of that flop otherwise his position would be horrible because of Meher Ramesh.
Meher Ramesh cleared this by revealing what happened behind Shakthi and where it went wrong. Meher Ramesh in his interview recently to a youtube channel revealed that his initial story for Shakthi was different. But, things changed when Aswini Dutt gave an idea and wanted to do the film based on Goddess Adiparashakthi. He also added that Aswini Dutt brings writers like Bharavi and Yandamoori Veerendranath to tweak the script. All this was happened with the acceptance of Hero. Bunny and Vinayak knew my actual story for Shakti says Meher Ramesh. He also said that he wanted to make Shakti in a budget of Rs 25 Crores but with Dutt's involvement and his ambition to make it big the budget skyrocketed. Meher Ramesh concluded Myself, Dutt Garu, NTR Garu... All of us have our best for the film. Story was given by big writers and I only made what they gave me. The film was visually good. But, it didn't connected well with the audiences.
With Meher Ramesh's revelation it seems clear about the exact reason behind the humiliating failure of Shakthi.
