Bollywood: Tarnishing South hits in the name of remakes?

Bollywood on a mission to tarnish south hits

Bollywood which has become bankrupt in coming up with new and interesting stories is now in the process of reviving itself by remaking the south hits. However in the process, one gets a feeling that it is on a mission to tarnish south hits. It is known that Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet Singh are starring in the remake of the superhit Tamil crime thriller Ratchasan. The film starring Vishnu Vishal was remade in Telugu by Ramesh Varma. Ramesh Varma however did not tamper with the original story and did as it is and scored a hit casting Bellamkonda Srinivas in the lead.

However, the same cannot of said of Cutputli, the Hindi version starring Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead under the direction of Ranjith Tiwari. The makers recently released a song Rabba Rabba and it is infuriating Tamil movie lovers to the core. It is known that the female lead in the original plays the role of a school teacher and there is no real romantic thread or song in the film.

But Bollywood makers included a song on Akshay Kumar and Rakul Preet Singh in the name of creativity and Hindi sensibilities and it seems this will surely backfire on them.  Kathputli fate will be revealed in couple of hours from now when it starts streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar.
