Is Vijay Devarakonda only after Amitabh Bachchan? Seems to according to the owner of the Maratha Mandir theatre. Rowdy Star Vijay Devarakonda's much talked about Bollywood debut turned out to be a disaster with his film Liger getting disastrous reviews from all quarters. It is known that Vijay Devarakonda promoted the film in his own way, using his style and swag and at that time, he even took on the boycott bridage and dared them to boycott Liger.
When the fim released, the theatres wore an empty look and this infurirarated Maratha Mandir theatre owner Manoj Desai who also the exhibitor and owns Gaiety Galaxy theater. He blasted saying "Vijay Devarakonda saying Why are you showing smartness by saying ‘Boycott our movie’? People won’t even watch on OTT. Such behaviour of yours has put us in trouble and impacted our advance bookings. Mr Vijay, you are anaconda not ‘Konda Konda’. You are talking like an anaconda. ‘Vinaash kaale vipareet buddhi’, when the time of destruction inches closer, the mind stops working, and you are doing that. Anyways, it’s your wish."
He also added " "Mr Vijay, it seems, you have become arrogant, ‘Watch the movie or if you don’t wish to, then don’t watch’, haven’t you seen its impact. If the audience will not watch, see what Taapsee Pannu, Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar are going through. I had high expectations from the movie, but such statements during the interview had harsh impacts. One shouldn’t do this and never pay heed to hashtags,"
Vijay Devarakonda then issued a statement and added that his words are taken out of context. He also met Manoj Desai and took his blessings. Following this, Manoj Desai shocked all saying Vijay Devarakonda is next only to Amitabh Bachchan. Manoj Desai said *“I’ve only said sorry to 2 actors - Amitabh Bachchan & now Vijay Deverakonda” says theatre owner Manoj Desai over misunderstood statement of #Liger star #VijayDevarakonda. *When I met Vijay I realised he thinks about the entire team of his films” He went on to add "“He is a really very nice guy, down to earth, I will keep loving him always. He has got a bright future and I promise hereby, I will take all his pictures. I wish him all the best”"
