Celebs confusion: Ethnic Cleansing vs Vigilantism

Why are celebrities confused about ethnic cleansing and vigilantism?

Talented actress Sai Pallavi landed in a huge controversy after she equated vigilantism with ethnic cleansing while taking about the blockbuster film The Kashmir Files. This brings to the fore as to why celebrities are confused about ethnic cleansing and vigilantism and also about the way they react to the burning issues in a selective manner.

When The Kashmir Files film turned out to be silent hit, none of them dared to praise the film. They feared that praising the film would anger Muslim community. Celebrities like Prakash Raj,Swara Bhaskar and others blasted The Kashmir Files makers for trying to divide the society by stoking the emotions and trying to break the secular fabric.

But the same people maintained stoic silence when it came to the targeted and ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri pandits by the Islamic and Jihadi forces.Even now when the terrorists are killing Hindus selectively in Kashmir, Prakash Raj,Swara Bhaskar and the other Bollywood celebrities remain silent. These people however continuously lecture on cow vigilantism knowing very well the cow slaughter is banned in the country and is a punishable office.

This double standards are seen through and many wonder whether celebrities like Deepika Padukone and others who go to JNU to promote their films are so naive to differentiate between ethnic cleansing and viginantisim or they are acting as though they are a confused lot or they are turning a blind eye. Sai Pallavi landed in unwanted controversy as she always stays away from the controversies and she is an exception. But others like Prakash Raj,Kamal Haasan,Deepika Padukone and other Bollywood stars turn a blind eye to the anti sikh riots, targeted killings of the Hindus but they will be up in arms to please the Muslims.
