Chiranjeevi is set to show his power at the box office with Acharya. The film directed by Koratala Shiva is releasing in April 29,2022. Ahead of the film's release, the makers celebrated the pre-release event in style yesterday at Yousufguda Police Grounds, Hyderabad. Rajamouli graced the event as the special guest delighting everyone.
Ram Charan said he learned a lot in the 20 days of shoot in Acharya sharing screen presence with his dad Chiranjeevi. He said generally Rajamouli does not allow any actor to sign other films and shoot for them while doing his film but he allowed him to do Acharya while doing RRR out of respect for his dad. He said the role Siddha, played in Acharya is close to his heart and expressed confidence that the film will be a big hit.
Rajamouli said one should learn how to be humble despite stardom from Chiranjeevi. He said Koratala Shiva is the synonym for mass entertainers. He said Acharya will be a double blockbuster. He said when he did Magadheera with Ram Charan, he thought Chiranjeevi would take the decisions, but added that Chiranjeevi never interfere in Ram Charan's decisions.
Koratala Shiva thanked Chiranjeevi for the golden opportunity and shared the memories he had with Chiranjeevi during the shoot. He thanked Rajamouli for allowing Ram Charan to shoot for his role Siddha in the film. Pooja Hegde thanked Koratala Shiva for giving her the character Neelambari which has a lot of variations. She requested Chiranjeevi to give her some of his swag and style.
Chiranjeevi showered praises on Rajamouli. He said" Rajamouli was the reason for him to do Acharya. Koratala Shiva planned a film with Ram Charan but at that time Ram Charan was busy with Rajamouli's RRR. During that time, I invited Koratala to my house and asked him whether he has any story for me. At that time Koratala came with Acharya's story. Thus his project with Ram Charan got delayed. However, Koratala created Siddha's role and again we faced the Rajamouli problem. For some reason, it became impossible for them to inform Rajamouli about the developments. During that time we used Surekha's sentiment as she dreamed of seeing me and Ram Charan in full-length roles and convinced Rajamouli to permit Ram Charan to do the Siddha role and thus Rajamouli became a part of the film. That's the reason Rajamouli came to this function'
Chiranjeevi said ' When I went to receive the national award for Rudraveena, we were given a tea party. In the hall, the glory of Indian cinema was depicted with the pictures of Bollywood stars Prithviraj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, and others. Only MGR, Jayalalitha photo was there depicting the south cinema. There were no south Indian stars like Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan, Sivaji Ganeshan, NTR, ANR, etc. Now Rajamouli did entire nation proud by elevating the standard of South and Tollywood cinema at the international level"
