Top directors cunning gameplan!

Yes, they can be rated not just creative brains in making a movie but their creativeness outshines great business minds in film industry when it comes to marketing their films. We are speaking about top directors Ramgopal Varma and Maniratnam. Audience are slowly digesting the fact that both these directors have already lost their touch of film making years ago, yet they are making a surviving only by their business sense.

If the case is for Maniratnam, one can easily prove that he relied more on starcast of his movie for generating the hype and doing the business for his movies all the way from Yuva. If Yuva has a bunch of artists ranging from Abhishek Bachchan, Suriya, Siddharth, Madhavan, Esha Deol, Trisha, Kareena Kapoor and many more…distributors, exhibitors and audience are easily pulled to theatres and movie has done a good business but declared a big time failure. Same iss applicable even to Raavan/Villain/Raavanan as theatres are going empty (Relaince Big lost it Big time while Maniratnam gained Big time). Coming to Ramgopal Varma, his factory and himself are following the same formula of starcast doing the business but not their worthwhile direction or making of movie.

Present gameplan of Ramgopal Varma has already started reaping benefits because Raktha Charitra which has Vivek Oberoi for Bollywood audience, Suriya and Priyamani for Tolly and Kollywood audience is known to have done a business of Rs.12 crores in Telugu which is itself  record for a director who lost his touch years ago.

A clear view is that, both these directors have lost grip of their core fields but they are more depending on heroes and heroines image for doing business in 100’s or crores. Why can’t we call this as Cunning Gameplan?
