Bellamkonda Suresh-produced Golimaar with Gopichand in the lead is an action flick. Director Puri Jagannath has claimed that the story with a police background was an inspiration from the real life of encounter specialist Daya Nayak.
Gopichand has given an electrifying performance in the film along with Priyamani and Roja. Gangaram (Gopi), an orphan and a tea vendor who grows up to be a police officer is spotted by a DGP for his guts. The police official Gopi turns out to be an encounter specialist and eliminates as many as 100 gangsters.
Gopi’s chance encounter with sexy Priyamani (Pavitra), an event manager and daughter of Roja, gives a surprise twist to the film. Roja’s misandry (hatred for men and police) brings out the best in her character. She brings up her daughter with the same mindset.
Gangaram manages to kill one of the leaders of the two rival gangs in an encounter. He seeks permission from the DGP to eliminate the other mafia gang leader who stays in Malaysia. As the police rule do not allow arrest of a criminal abroad with extradition, Gopi is asked to quit temporarily. How the movie leads the audience interest to a griping climax is behind the success of the movie.
