Brimming with innocence and sharp screen presence, Shruti Sharma added a lot of charm and appeal to her first feature film release Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya alongisde Naveen Polishetty. Although, surprisingly, she hasn’t bagged any Telugu film offers ever since she made it to a Hindi film titled Pagglait that began streaming on Netflix yesterday.
She plays a role named Nazia, a friend to the lead character essayed by Dangal-fame Sanya Malhotra in the film. The film has a unique premise revolving around a young widow and her inability to grieve the death of her beloved. Shruti Sharma’s role is minimal in the context of the story but as a supporting character who stands by her friend in the thick and thin of her life, she is an emotional anchor to the lead character.
Shruti exudes a girl-next-door girl simplicity through the film and still registers an impression. The Uttar Pradesh-based actress had a brief stint in television soaps and reality shows before she entered films. One would believe that she is certain to get work from several quarters of the film industry after Pagglait, given the wide reach of the streaming platform and Hindi content, in particular.
