It’s a natural transition for models and bodybuilders to enter the film industry at some point in their careers. Popular bodybuilder Raja Narendra, a Telugu boy from Eluru, who has several state-level, national level and international laurels to his credit (roughly 20), has taken a similar route. He is all set to enter the tinsel town with a thriller titled Asmee. A premiere of the film, shot in a record span of 16 days in 2020, was held for a select audience in Hyderabad recently.
Asmee, directed and cinematographed by newcomer Sesh Karthikeya, is a riveting crime thriller with several twists and turns. Raja Narendra plays the lead role in the film that also stars well-known theatre actor Keshav Deepak and supporting actor Indu in key parts. Prominent editor Prawin Pudi has edited the film that has an edge-of-the-seat music score by Sandy.
Raja Narendra’s film is being bankrolled by first-time producers Sneha and Rakesh under Saachi creations and the makers are yet to decide between releasing the film in theatres and streaming platforms. The tall, fit youngster certainly hopes that the success he tasted in body-building competitions would continue with his film stint too. If all goes well, his debut film may release in a few months.
