Comic Legend Crazy Mohan No More

Crazy Mohan Passes Away

Tamil actor-writer ‘Crazy’ Mohan breathed his last at 2pm today at Kauvery Hospital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, after he suffered a massive cardiac arrest. He was 67. He is survived by his wife and two sons.

Born in 1952 as Mohan Rangachari, he had written dialogue and screenplays for numerous films. Crazy thieves in Palavakkam, Chocolate Krishna have been some of the famous plays written by Crazy Mohan.

Introduced by Kamal Haasan to the big screen, the comic legend worked for several films of the actor including Apoorva Sagodhargal (1989),Michael Madana Kama Rajan (1990), Sathi Leelavathi (1995), Avvai Shanmughi (1996), Kaathala Kaathala (1998) and Vasool Raja MBBS (2004).

His dialogues are known to provide wisecracking commentary on daily life. His humor was harmless. No double-meaning lines or below-the-belt punches. Not even politically incorrect ones. He showed that you needn't poke fun at others to make people laugh: there were many other ways to do it.
