Simmbha, official remake of young tiger NTR’s critically acclaimed and commercially successful film Temper, is the first release for Bollywood star Ranveer Singh after his marriage with top actress Deepika Padukone. The film directed by Rohit Shetty released yesterday to positive response from critics and audience alike.
Simmbha had a smashing first day at the box office. The film collected a whopping Rs 20.72 crore and it is the highest opening day for Ranveer Singh. As per trade reports, Simmbha is performing far better on day two and it is sure to become highest earner for Ranveer. Seems like, Deepika has turned lucky charm for Ranveer.
After a spate of flops, audiences would be looking for a masala movie, which seems to be Shetty's specialty. Moreover, the filmmakers have also been driving the film's promotions in the right direction.
Simmba also stars Sara Ali Khan, Sonu Sood and Vijay Patkar, with cameo roles by Ajay Devgn, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu, Shreyas Talpade and Arshad Warsi.
