Vijay and AR Murugadoss starrer political thriller Sarkar released on Diwali Day to mixed response. The film even before its release became the talking point and mugged a lot of controversies which doesn't seem to end any time soon. While earlier, Sarkar was accused of plagiarism, later it faced the piracy threat from a piracy portal.
After the release, Sarkar is under a political scrutiny because, a female politician’s character Komalavalli played by Varalakshmi Sarathkumar is largely shown as someone who would resemble Jayalalithaa, although no mention is made of her.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu minister Kadambur Raju warned the makers to chop off some controversial scenes in the film and last night the police visited director AR Murugadoss' house. “Police had come to my house late tonight and banged the door several times. Since I was not there they left the premises. Right now I was told there is no police outside my house,” informed Murugadoss.
Soon after this, actor Vishal came out in support of AR Murugadoss and tweeted: “Police in Dir Murugadoss s home????? For Wat?? Hoping and really hoping that nothin unforeseen happens. Once again. Censor has cleared the film and the content is watched by public.den why all this hue and cry.”
Sarkar team has agreed to mute controversial dialogues and the edited version will be screened from matinee shows today.
