Young hero Daggubati Rana who is also a popular figure in Page 3 circles expressed his opinion on the on-going controversy about Drugs and their influence on Tollywood. While the names of his contemporary heroes are up in the SIT list and are allotted specific timings to appear for interrogation, Rana says self control is very important for every human being.
‘Do not magnify drugs issue and sensationalize it. Yes, drugs are harmful to the society. It is sad that from school students to IT and cinema industry, many people are getting addicted to them. Some of the people are demanding Police officials to reveal the names of those students who are drug addicted. This is absolutely wrong because drugs is a sensitive issue and should be dealt very carefully. Parents should take care of children by observing them closely and teach them good habits.
As per my knowledge, films are watched only by 12 per cent of Telugu community. Most importantly, cinema influences only the minor portion of population connected to Film Nagar. It is understood in a wrong notion that Fans follow their heroes in good habits and bad addictions. This doesn’t mean, Fans will distance from cigarette smoking or liquor consumption if their favorite hero doesn’t touch them. It’s all about an individual’s self control. So, please do not judge the influence of drugs in society with respect to cinema industry alone,’ Rana requested media.
