As a film maker, SS Rajamouli envisioned a magnum opus of this huge scale in Baahubali story. But to run a movie in commercial format, it’s the strength in characters and screenplay matters a lot. When Baahubali is a film thought to be made in one part and later divided into two parts, how Rajamouli and his team coped up with the new equation?
‘Any film maker will be happy to work on a humongous project like Baahubali but from my viewpoint, major credit should go to my dad Vijayendra Prasad for creating such powerful characters (Amarendra Bahubali, Mahendra Bahubali, Kattappa, Bhalladeva, Shivagami, Deva Sena, Bijjaladevudu etc).
When you have these well established characters on hand, it’s the matter of screenplay to decide the length of a film or how many parts it can be made in.
So far in my career, I consider Baahubali 2 as the most satisfactory film for me as a storyteller which also provided vast scope to explore my favorite area of hero elevation,’ says a confident Rajamouli as his prestigious film is set for a magnanimous release on 28th.
