‘Brahmotsavam’ literally means a prodigious celebration and a familiarly used word with respect to Lord Venkateshwara Swamy in Tirumala. Such a priestly word used as title for Mahesh Babu’s movie means a lot. More than celebration for Gods, this film is meant to illuminate the relationships and values in families wherein celebrations are commonly found scenarios in each day and the moments they enjoy in each-others company form an invaluable treasure.
Uniting families for a good occasion is generally a Telugu tradition. So, ‘Brahmotsavam’ stands stiff on this element. Promotional stuff rolled out by producer PVP clearly showcases the grandeur in visuals as every frame is populated with glittering star cast. Director Srikant Addala is known for imbibing the traditional and cultural Telugu values in his films. He appears to have done it for ‘Brahmotsavam.’
All in all, Mahesh Babu in company of Samanta, Kajal Agarwal, Pranitha Subhash, Jaya Sudha, Revathy, Thulasi and other star artists; ‘Brahmotsavam’ looks like a celebration for our eyes and heart. That’s what we say, this movie stood up to the essence in title.
