Sehwag Retires His Innings!

Virender Sehwag Retirement from International Cricket

Dashing Indian opening batsman Virender Sehwag announced his retirement from all forms of International cricket. Though his retirement speculations stroked social networking platforms from yesterday, there was no official confirmation until Sehwag made an official statement.

‘Thanks everyone for all your wishes and love. I hereby retire from all forms of international cricket and from the Indian Premier League (IPL),’ Sehwag tweeted. He also attached a printed statement stating his retirement. Sehwag is 37 years old now and redefined the stroke play during Power Plays in ODIs and T20s.

Entry of new and young talents in the form of Shikhar Dhawan and Murali Vijay subsequently filled Sehwag’s place as he played the last test series in 2013 against Australia. Even in ODIs, his poor performance led to severe criticism resulting in dropping from the team.
