'Bahubali' Waterfall - Real or CGI

Along with the main casting of ‘Bahubali,’ there is one geographical feature in the film which has become more important that casting and it is the angelic waterfall. Importance of this waterfall is underlined by Rajamouli in the very initial portions of film when childhood of Shivudu or the way Tribal people rescue Shivudu when Sivagami drowns away. All these lay a strong footing for rest of story narration to continue on gripping note.

When media men tried to dig more into these scenic waterfalls, we heard that the production team has shot many portions at 98 feet height in Chalakudy waterfalls located in Kerala. Art Director Sabu Cyril’s technical approach came in handy later on when production design and visual effects added to the kicking punch.

‘We recreated eight portions of steep rocks, each 45 feet high. We also arranged a water tank with continuous recycling of water pumped as a model to waterfall. Here Prabhas used to climb the rocks. All these effects were later enhanced through CGI. For the first time, we used such method and output is just awesome,’ Sabu Cyril explained the truth behind ‘Bahubali’ waterfall.
