Lives of artists in cinema industry are like soap bubbles. There is lot of uncertainty and quandary to define their lives. The role of Siricilla Handloom Weaver Ramulu played by old man Nagayya in ‘Vedam’ has touched the hearts of audience. His performance stood as lifeline for entire movie and Nagayya became popular in no time. However, offers started to decline in last few months and Nagayya was hell bent to beg on the roads of Film Nagar.
When media took active interest in highlighting the pity situation of Nagayya, surprisingly Telangana IT and Panchayati Raj Minister KTR responded in no time. He called upon Nagayya to the office and handed over Rs. 1 Lakh cheque. He also promised monthly pension to Nagayya and ordered Movie Artists Association President Rajendra Prasad to take further steps.
Coincidentally, Nagayya’s character of Ramulu in ‘Vedam’ hails from Siricilla and KTR is the MLA of same Assembly. The swift action by KTR to help Nagayya has highlighted the concern of Telangana Government towards cinema industry. Well done sir.
