The financial losses faced by those businessmen who were into distribution and exhibition rights of ‘Lingaa’ are creating an unnecessary controversy, claims producer Rockline Venkatesh. The Rajinikanth, Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka starring film directed by KS Ravi Kumar was released few weeks ago to a sparse response from all the corners. Both Tamil and Telugu versions are opened with negative response thus pushing the traders into losses. At a time when distributors in some areas of Tamil Nadu have come on roads demanding Rajinikanth to pay for their losses, here comes producer Venkatesh looking the issue in a different perspective.
‘The ultimate motive of Rajinikanth is to serve people. As next elections are nearing up in TN, some of his antis are propagating this discredit and stopping Rajini from entering into main stream politics. They were frightened of Rajini’s image and are behaving this way. As per the contract signed by distributors, we are not entitled to pay them anything in return,’ Venkatesh said.
