South Indian films getting remade in Hindi was sensed as a safe BO hit formula by North Indian film makers. To give that kicking punch of refreshing entertainment through Hindi films, some of these producers have even hired the services of South Indian directors like Prabhu Deva. Movies like ‘Wanted, Rowdy Rathore’ elevated Prabhu Deva as the best in demand director. However, all these credentials are drained into sewage with shocking and a disastrous hat trick.
Prabhu’s last three directorial ventures ‘Ramaiya Vasthavaiya, Rambo Raj Kumar’ and lastly ‘Action Jackson’ ended as flop ventures. At a time when directors like Sajid Khan who loves to keep Hindi films in Southern style are humiliated with flops, Prabhu Deva struck in 1980 and 90s formulae failed to entice North viewers. Looks like the time has come for Indian MJ to buy Chennai bound flight ticket.
