At a time when everything is flowing so smooth for Manchu Vishnu both as a hero and producer, his selection of character in ‘Yerra Bassu’ as grandson to Dasari Narayana Rao has invited criticism from film circles. In fact, the movie is a one man show of Dasari because of entire concept pivoting around the innocence and humanitarian characterization transferred as it is from the original Tamil version. So, Vishnu has very less scope to perform and the way his role behaves with abnormal, unbalancing emotions did not get unique response.
Adding more of sorrows, a fight was unnecessarily placed in the pre climax episode which made Vishnu’s role much more diluted. Common opinion from many critics is, instead of Vishnu who is enjoying quite a good stardom in recent days, Dasari should have selected any second grade market hero for ‘Yerra Bassu.'
