Tamil ‘Manja Pai’ to Telugu remake of ‘Yerra Bassu’ starring Dasari Narayana Rao and Manchu Vishnu has hit the screens yesterday to simple reactions from audience. Even the ratings from genuine critics were on the lower side due to missing of emotional connectivity elements in the film. Whatsoever, the Tamil version stood as a super hit with Raj Kiran and Vimal as grandpa and grandson stolen the show. The comedy drama was although over emotional and a predictable tale, it’s the solid performances from Raj Kiran and Vimal put it on a hit category.
Coming to Telugu version, Dasari and Manchu Vishnu have done their best to entertain audience but have fallen short in connecting those touching episodes with a proper screenplay. Dasari is always a reliable artist and when it’s an elderly villager character, nobody can fit like him. Overall, the plot is clichéd and BO result of ‘Yerra Bassu’ may not be as bright as Tamil version is the verdict from film critics.
