For complete family entertainer films, Censor Board never keeps any hurdles in any form from giving a pure U certification. Only and only if board members find any elements of adult orientation, they go for A or U/A certification! Most likely everyone thought of Akkineni family multi star film ‘Manam’ will come out with a clean U certificate due to the promotions and content in the film. However, the movie is awarded U/A certificate for one reason.

Inner film sources say that ‘Manam’ had lot of drinking scenes between ANR, Nagarjuna and Chaitanya which is the reason why Censor recommended for U/A.
