Along with ‘Sahasam,’ there is one more movie released yesterday. It is ‘Pelli Pusthakam’ of Rahun Ravindran and Niti Taylor, directed by debutant Ramakrishna Machchakanti. Having used the precious title of ‘Pelli Pusthakam,’ obviously we assume at least half of the output of Bapu in this new version. Unfortunately, the snail pace of narration without proper sense of direction made it horrible. Even they have used the re-mix song of ‘Srirasthu Shubhamasthu’ for this.
Story is about Bava Maradalu, Rahul and Niti bonded in a marriage by force of their grand father Sathyam (Nagineedu). Due to early teenage problems, nothing works between them although they were kind and affectionate towards each other. How did time fill the gap between two and how the joint family members supported them is rest. In crisp, story line has that charm to come up with one more total family entertainer but director Ramakrishna’s inexperience was evident throughout. Finally, movie might end as one more one week film at Box Office with no revenues guaranteed.
To mention in specific, ‘Pelli Pusthakam’ is the Makki to Makki remake of Korean film ‘My Little Bride’ released in 2004.
